Welcome to Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone (SPC FZ), the world’s first free zone exclusively dedicated to the global print and publishing industry. One of the key advantages of choosing SPC FZ is the ease of company setup with zero startup capital required. Also, 100% foreign ownership is allowed, with zero corporate and income taxes. SPC FZ is open 24/7, catering to the publishing industry’s needs. Business licenses can be granted in just ten days, and more than 1,500 designated commercial activities are allowed. Companies can also have a Dual Business License, both Mainland and Free Zone, and opening a corporate bank account is easy.
Suppose you are considering setting up your publishing business in SPC FZ. In that case, you will need to provide a copy of your passport, a copy of your residence visa (if already in the UAE), a copy of your educational certificates (for managers), and two passport-sized photographs. These documents are required for all directors, shareholders, and managers of the proposed company.
Suppose your company already exists outside of SPC FZ. In that case, you will also need to provide notarized and attested copies of your certificate of incorporation, memorandum of association, board resolution agreeing to set up a company in SPC FZ, and incumbency certificate/certificate of good standing (if applicable) at the time of application.
SPC FZ is operated by the Sharjah Book Authority, which also oversees the Sharjah International Book Fair, the largest event of its kind in the Middle East. The event draws in more than 2.23 million visitors every year, with 1,874 publishers from 77 nations showcasing approximately 1.6 million titles on average.
